With a growing family, the Owner had a clear vision of the new master suite they wished to add to their home. My job was to make that happen in a clear and concise way via project documentation. This assists the Owners in receiving the space they want by clearly communicating their desires with the contractor.
Proposal for a new structure adding 80 new beds adjacent to an existing structure by the same owner. I was responsible for the feasibility and zoning analysis, design, and drawings with oversight by Lawrence Kutnicki, AIA and Omar Hernandez, AIA. Worked performed while employed by Kutnicki Bernstein Architects.
Quixote Village is the new home for Camp Quixote – a public/private partnership to house 30 individuals formerly living in tents in Olympia, Washington. The project was designed and developed under the Washington State Evergreen Sustainable Development Standards program to ensure long life, easy maintenance and a healthful environment for the residents. Self-managed by the villagers and assisted by Panza, a not-for-profit group created specifically to assist Camp Quixote with their housing and social needs, the village maintains full-time staff members to help residents with social, economic and mental issues they may be struggling with. The village consists of 30 cottage each with a bed, desk, toilet, sink and closet along with a house which contains shower rooms, laundry room, living room and communal kitchen. My role was design development, project management, consultant coordination, ensuring sustainability goals were met, and project documentation. Designed while at MSGS Architects in 2010, this 22,252 sf warehouse/office/distillery remodel received LEED Silver designation by the USGBC. Niches, furniture, sunshades, corridors and ceilings. While at McGranahan Architects – assisted with Design Development through Permit Documents of the Arts & Allied Health project at Clover Park Technical College with Marc Gleason, AIA as the Principal-in-Charge. My role included ceiling coordination and sunshade design and detailing in addition to working with the interiors department to conceptualize, design and detail the furniture and lighting at the niches.
