To bring a sense of height, light and openness to this level, the acoustical ceiling tiles were removed, the existing structure and the new mechanical systems were painted a chocolate brown, and "clouds" were added to both reflect light down and provide interest. Additionally, solid doors were replaced with glass doors and large sidelights were added; both allow daylight to filter in to the space and peak-a-boo views to the landscape outside.
